Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct nursing care to pediatric patients in both their home and school environments, including administering medications, monitoring vital signs, and managing treatments.
- Develop and implement personalized care plans in collaboration with the child’s healthcare team, including physicians, families, and educators.
- Educate and train families, caregivers, and school staff on the child’s medical needs, treatment plans, and care procedures.
- Monitor patient progress, document any changes in condition, and report concerns to the healthcare team, including school staff and supervising physicians.
- Assist with specialized pediatric treatments, including respiratory support, feeding tubes, wound care, and other necessary medical procedures.
- Provide emotional support and comfort to both the child and their family, promoting overall well-being.
- Ensure the child’s safety and comfort within their home and school settings, adhering to healthcare regulations and school policies.
- Actively participate in case reviews and collaborate with school staff to ensure the child’s needs are met in the educational environment.
- Work with teachers and school staff to address the child’s specific medical needs while attending school, ensuring proper care during school hours.
- Foster a nurturing environment that supports the child’s growth, social integration, and academic success in the school setting.
Qualifications:
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in FL
- Pediatric nursing experience, with preference for experience in home care, school nursing, or pediatric critical care.
- Experience in providing care in both home and school settings is highly desired.
- Strong clinical skills and familiarity with pediatric treatments, medications, and care plans.
- Ability to work independently while coordinating with multiple teams, including family members, healthcare providers, and school staff.
- Compassionate, patient, and attentive to the unique needs of pediatric patients.
- Current CPR and BLS certification required (PALS certification is a plus).
- Must pass background check and drug screening.
