Position Details:

  • Case Details: Pediatric home care for a 3-year-old child with special needs, requiring assistance with G-Tube feedings, medication administration, feeding, bathing, and total care with daily activities (ADLs).
  • Schedule: 7 days a week, 12-hour shifts, shared between two nurses, with the opportunity to work up to 40 hours a week.
  • Fluency in Spanish: This case requires fluency in Spanish to effectively communicate with the family and provide high-quality care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide comprehensive nursing care to a pediatric patient in the home setting, including G-Tube feedings, medication administration, feeding, bathing, and assistance with all ADLs.
  • Monitor vital signs, manage medical treatments, and ensure the patient’s safety and comfort.
  • Develop and implement personalized care plans in collaboration with the child’s healthcare team, including physicians, family members, and other medical professionals.
  • Educate family members and caregivers on care procedures and how to manage the child's medical needs effectively.
  • Report patient progress, document any changes in condition, and communicate effectively with the healthcare team.
  • Provide emotional support and comfort to the patient and their family, ensuring a nurturing environment.
  • Ensure that all care practices align with healthcare regulations and family preferences, fostering the child’s overall well-being.
  • Assist with physical and emotional support in a variety of settings, promoting the patient’s development, comfort, and quality of life.

Qualifications:

  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) licensure in Florida.
  • Fluency in Spanish and English is required to effectively communicate with the family and provide excellent care.
  • Experience in pediatric nursing, particularly in home care or critical care settings.
  • Strong clinical skills and experience with G-Tube feeding, medication administration, and providing assistance with daily living activities.
  • Ability to work independently while coordinating care with the healthcare team and family.
  • Compassionate, patient, and skilled in addressing the unique needs of pediatric patients.
  • Current CPR and BLS certification (PALS is a plus).
  • Must pass a background check and drug screening.
