We are seeking a compassionate and skilled LPN or RN to provide specialized care for an 11-year-old male client with complex medical needs. This young patient requires assistance with transfers using a Hoyer lift, as he has contractures and paralysis. He is non-verbal, visually impaired, and needs ongoing G-tube maintenance. With chronic seizures, he is on seizure precautions and requires attentive monitoring. Key Responsibilities:
As an LPN or RN providing care for this 11-year-old male client, your responsibilities will include:
Assisting with Transfers: Safely use a Hoyer lift to assist with transfers to and from the wheelchair and recliner, ensuring comfort and safety at all times.
Seizure Monitoring: Provide vigilant monitoring and care for the client during seizure activity, following established seizure precautions and protocols.
G-Tube Care: Perform regular maintenance and monitoring of the client’s G-tube, ensuring proper function and hygiene to prevent complications.
Daily Care: Assist with all aspects of daily care, including personal hygiene, dressing, and positioning, to ensure comfort and prevent complications associated with paralysis and contractures.
Communication and Observation: Work closely with family members and the healthcare team to observe and report any changes in condition or behavior, maintaining accurate records and reports.
Supportive Care: Offer emotional and physical support to the client, maintaining their dignity and comfort, while addressing any needs related to their visual impairment and non-verbal communication.
Qualifications:- Current unencumbered LPN/RN license in the state of Florida
- Minimum one (1) year experience as a Registered Nurse in a supervised setting within the last three (3) years
- Successful completion of the skills assessment specific to the areas of experience including any specialty areas
- Valid CPR card
- Valid level two background in the system with AHCA
- TB test showing a negative result
